Coping
with Care: How to Make a Caring Transition
On Tuesday, February 08, 2005, Jim Stevens, president of Caring
Transitions Inc., was featured
on
WKYC-TV 3 for his unique company that specializes in moving seniors.
"That's what I saw missing in moving people - is that
caring and that compassion and the empathy and understanding
that these people are going through - a horrendous upheaval
in their lives and I just try to make it as smooth and comfortable
and caring," said Jim Stevens.

James M. Stevens is President
of Caring Transitions Inc. in Cleveland, OH. The company helps
seniors, people with disabilities, and their family members manage
not only
the physical demands of moving, but more importantly, helps them
cope with the psychological and emotional aspects of a later life
move.
Jim’s 25-year professional background in financial
services and insurance included helping senior clients and their
families
deal with the potentially devastating financial aspects of aging
and declining health. He started Caring Transitions after seeing
firsthand, a huge unmet need for these services developing in his
family, his community and throughout the country.
Jim has been
involved as a volunteer and Trustee of Meals on Wheels, as well
as serving
as a volunteer and speaker at numerous Northern Ohio retirement
communities and senior organizations over the years.
Caring Transitions is affiliated with other Senior Move Management
companies as a member of National
Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM). While there are currently only a handful of companies
offering these specialized relocation services throughout the US,
Jim saw
the potential to truly be his own boss and grow his company while
meeting the increasing needs of other “baby boomers” and
their parents.
